Our Story

What is Swamp Dog?

We're an outdoor apparel brand that, through our apparel and resources, aims to connect outdoorsmen and women to a relationship with God.

We hope that, when asked about the brand, you'll want to use our products as a tool to talk about your relationship to God. We include our slogan "Faith Based, Outdoor Driven" on all of our products because it's what we stand for. Our faith comes first and our drive for the outdoors comes second.

Why is the logo a pintail?

Growing up hunting the swamps of NC, we mostly killed wood ducks with the occasional green head here or there. A pintail to me, was the most sought-after bird to kill. At 17, I had no branding experience but the pintail just stuck compared to other logos we tried. We hold the pintail in high regard when hunting, but not near as much as Jesus Christ in our lives.

How did Swamp Dog start?

In 2014, I had a dream to create a hunting brand just like everyone else. I started with a pre-order of 30 shirts with a very simple logo on the front and back. I took that money and reinvested it into the business throughout high school and college. The brand was more of a hobby but people took a liking to the designs and products. I had always incorporated "family, faith, etc" into the brand but was hesitant on the faith aspect.

It wasn't until 2017 that I surrendered my life to Christ.

I had lost a best friend in a car wreck and my mother to cancer which left me at the bottom of the barrel. I searched for fulfillment in sex, drugs, and rock n' roll, which ultimately led me to a darker place than before. Depressed, hopeless, and miserable, I opened my bible as a last ditch effort to see if God was really real. My finger landed on John 20:21 and my perspective of the world changed.

“Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.””
‭‭John‬ ‭20:21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The peace, joy, happiness, and fulfillment I found in Christ is far more superior than a group of ducks locked up or a mature 8 point buck broadside at 20 yards. Although we love those things, our mission is to advance the Gospel in hopes that you too can find faith in Christ.
